i believe in honest, pure, clean and unsoiled design. just like a person, design can become filthy and spotted. many become comfortable with it, i however cannot and will not.
i am interested in expanding good, quality, and lasting designs. anyone interested in joining forces, a separate endeavor, or to bounce off ideas i would be happy to talk with you.
this website is to give a basic idea of what I can offer. for those of you that are design professionals; interior designers, architects or art dealers, this section might offer an answer to a few more specialized questions.
i will do consulting without constructing but i will never construct something from a photograph or sketch. i am not a hired hand. i am however willing and almost prefer to work and design within parameters and constraints.
i do both institutional and residential work. my preferred medium is wood, but i am far from limited to only wood. i am very comfortable working with glass, plexiglass, metals, plastics, resins and so forth. i am fully trained in most design based computer software and use these to help communicate my ideas or speed the production process by providing CAD drawings.
my passion for design, eye for quality and giving the customer what they want in a clear straight forward and concise matter, amongst many other things, makes me an excellent partner for your design needs.
i don't have a set process as i believe that depending on what is wanted or desired, that a process can kill creativity. a generic outline could be:
ideation - consists of using the pen and paper,
illustrator programs, 3-d modeling, physical models or any type of mock ups to generate ideas.
separating the genius from the good ideas
- looking at the ideas and what is wanted and eliminating those that
don't fully accomplish the desired outcome.
once the genius is found consumer feedback is sought.
pushing through the bottle neck
- finding ultimately the top three ideas and
presenting them to the consumer in a more finalized version.
if one of these don't hit the mark we start over.
finalization - present the final choice after
it's been pressed and ironed in what ever format is needed.
finish the deed - execute and deliver what was
wanted better than expected.
